Thule 1200 Omnistor Awning

We are ready to go with a canopy option, wishing to benefit from the speed and ease of a putting up a lighter canopy vs a fully enclosed awning. - We have been using a Kampa 365 pop up inflatable this summer but for shorter trips over the winter and in the hope of a French visit next year wanted something lighter and more nimble. (we are quite happy with the Kampa on the right type of trips)

Has anyone any experience and recommendations where best to buy from - it looks easy enough to fit ourselves and am I correct in assuming that 3.25M is the length to order for our 2018 540GT Troll?

Any thoughts or challenges on our choice of canopy also appreciated

Thanks

Stuppa

Hi Stuppa, A good choice. We went for a 6300 on our Troll having lived with one on our Motorhome for eight years. Have mentioned in many previous posts that we are fair weather campers and appreciate that a full awning has many benefits. For us we don't feel we are on holiday until the awning is out, quickly followed with a glass of wine. Don't like the enclosed feeling of a full awning although you can of course get sides for your wind out. For us the full awning is heavy, mucky to take down, if wet needs to be dried out somewhere, you know the rest .Yes, 3.25M is the correct size and John from Rose Awnings Poole fitted ours. Good luck with the fitting, ours was bonded to the roof rather than any mechanical fixings which was our preference. We have a stand alone pop- up awning which we cable tie to the legs of the wind out and that becomes our 'Dining Room'. Works for us. .

Thanks Chasnick
That is most helpful and provides me with the confidence to proceed. Point well made on the wine although it won't have much time to breath when we move to a canopy!
