Do you know what's under your Troll?

My husband and I bought a new Troll 60th Edition last August. On our second trip one of our wheels came off a mile from our storage site (that is a whole other saga to my query below).
When we were checking the damage we could see a piece of insulation board screwed to the underneath of the caravan. It’s on the near side, near the axle beam and seems to be roughly where the gas heater is situated above it.
The caravan is now at the dealer we bought it from where it is being assessed for the damage when the wheel came off. We have asked them about the insulation board – it is badly attached and the sealant has been applied very badly (photos attached).
The dealer has said that they think it is insulation for the heater but are checking with Hymer. Have any of you looked under your Eribas? Not sure if this is dodgy or not – it looks terrible. Is this factory fitted? No idea if the dealer did anything when they installed a motor mover.
Would be good to hear if anyone has seen this on their caravans and if it’s nothing to be worried about.

That does not look correct. You should have a plastic air or gas drop vent hidden near the gas fire, similar to those under your bed and possibly under the kitchen sink unit. It looks like somebody has screwed that block, admittedly with a space between it and the floor, to reduce the draft you get. Ours gets very drafty under the gas fire and we roll up a tea towel and tuck it along the floor in front of it.
If I saw this on a used van I would say it was a user "upgrade" and nothing to worry about as I'd leave. If your van was factory fresh then it does seem strange.

Thanks for your comments. Colin thanks for your 'take'. Interesting about the draft situation.

I may be totally wrong but when we ordered our Troll 540 in 2016 this storage space was an optional extra BUT I seem to remember it as being much nearer to the door of the van about a foot in from it - not really near the heater at all.
As I say I may be totally wrong but that's my recollection from about 6 years ago..............................
