Hello, we’re new to the forum and bought a 2019 Troll 530GT last year. We haven’t owned a caravan before but our friends had bought one and when we saw it we fell in love with it!
I retired last year but due to Covid we were only able to make a few trips in the UK but we are planning to travel a little further field this year, aiming for France and Andorra in June - any tips for an Eriba in France?
Looking forward to being on the forum.

Welcome Mike and Caroline. If away in June then you are out of high season and really should join ACSI. https://www.acsi.eu/en/about-us/ You will save a fortune.
The C&MC club offer about the most competitive prices you will find on crossings to Europe, but be prepared for a big bill. If you can do a silly hours crossing at about 3am the prices are a lot better. When I last checked the Eurotunnel was cheaper than the Dover - Calais Ferries.
Newhaven - Dieppe with DFDS is worth a look. By phoning through your booking you will be able to access an over 60's discount that is not available on line.
Another must is the C&MC Red Pennant continental insurance. I would also advise taking out the UK recovery they do called Mayday, through Green Flag. The very unusual benefit of these is they cover the caravan for breakdown, not just the car.
I hope you enjoy your trip, our first across to France then NL is June 6th, with another 5 weeks the end of August.

. If you take your Eriba to France you won’t be on your own. We always see so many Eribas.

We live in Brittany so if you have any questions about this neck of the woods, just ask.

Thanks Colin. We’ve got ACSI and are about to book the crossing. Great advice on the insurance - thanks.

Hi Mike & Caroline and welcome to the Forum.

Good choice of van with the 530GT - we have a 540 GT and love it. They tow like a dream and are brilliant to sleep in with the fresh air through the poptop

It would be great to get some feedback from you on your first trip to the Continent with it.

Have a good time
