We love our Eriba Touring 540, 2013 model year, but my wife is struggling with her balance when getting into the van. Our previous vehicle had a fold out handle next to the door on the outside. I’m wondering if nooner has had experience fitting one of these to an Eriba. The construction may not suit this type of device.

You can also buy a caravan step with a handrail. Not sure how steady it is but may be worth a look as a quick and inexpensive solution.

Take a look at the 12" Super Suction Grab Handle £9.99 from Careco.co.uk. We have one and it works well.

I endorse what Robin says, a simple suction grab handle is a great solution with a huge suction strength giving confidence when climbing into the van. Tony

Am I right in thinking that a suction handle will only work on the smooth-bodied Eribas?

In my opinion that would be correct. Certainly the one I have was not very successfully on a slightly rough travertine bathroom tile which is why it was available for the Eriba. However, on the smooth surface of the Eriba you could pull the caravan over such is the grip.
