Hi All! I know not everyone is a fan of covers for vans but we inherited an Eriba that's always been covered so feel compelled to do the same. The current ancient cover is definitely past its best and we need a newer one. Our Eriba Pan Familia 320 is a 2000 model with the front gas box. Does anyone know whether a cover for a newer Pan Familia might just fit? I am wondering whether the older vans might be a tad smaller and therefore whether a newer van's cover might just stretch over that front box. Our existing cover is by Automotive Leisure: looks like we will either have to try a secondhand one that is not made to fit (hence my query!) or fork out for a new Protec or Specialised one.

Hi Pinkster and welcome to the forum.
I can't definitively answer your question but I can explain that a friend of ours who has a PuckL with an enclosed gas locker has a Protec cover with a gas locker shaped front. The front is baggy so suggests that the gas locker is extra to the van length.
Therefore I would presume that a cover without a gas locker box shape would not fit your van.

If you don’t want to go to the expense of a made to measure cover you could buy a generic cover, probably the smallest length they do. You would have acres of extra material as they are designed for WWBs which are obviously taller than an Eriba.

The one thing that's stayed the same over the decades has been the body length of each of the Touring range vans. If you go for a purpose made fitted cover you'd need to be sure that the provider knew it was a model with the external front gas locker.

Thanks so much everyone! It sounds as though we'll have to order another fitted one if we're to get a close replacement. I am not keen on the idea of generic ones purely because of the issues with access via the door and the likely amount of loose fabric to gather.

Yes, we had a generic cover on our first van, it looked like a wrinkled old elephant sat in our front garden, went for a fitted cover when that one wore out.
