Rusty Sub-Chassis- bought a lemon

Hi I just bought this Eriba PAN FAM on ebay a few weeks ago

I should have walked away from it I know. The optimist in me thought it wouldn't be too bad. There is a lot of rust on the outer frame.
It looks like a job as described in the Steve Bradfield videos mentioned on here a lot

Any advice would be appreciated. What should I do, see if I can sell it as a project for someone.
Get some sort of repair done to make the legs secure and use it next Summer?
I am a bit upset at myself for buying a lemon

I have loads of pics, but too new to post links yet

Thanks

Roy

Hi Roy

Probably the way forward is to have a professional take a look and give you an estimate of the cost of any remedial repairs. You can then take a view on the cost/benefit.

If you search the forum, particularly the section on Caravan Servicing and Repairs, you will find a number of companies that specialise in welding and chassis refurbishment. For instance, MPH in Congleton have a good reputation.

It rather depends where you live as to which is most suitable.

Good luck.

I have seen some beautiful restoration jobs. If you're feeling up to it, you could end up with a real treasure!

Hi Roy and welcome to Eribafolk

Looking at the photo, it does look a bit ropey around the cill area although you mention the legs. All may not be lost but it'd be good to see a few pics of the underside area you are worried about. Also does the floor feel spongy when you walk on it?

Given Randa's suggestion in the Devon thread, why not try these people, Historic Motorsports Link in Clyst St Mary.
