Knott one I've heard of until recently

There is currently a discussion on Facebook about the new range of Eribas and Alan Ingham has pointed out that his Eribas have not had an ALKO chassis since 2014. He goes on to say:- ..................... a Knott hitch which I personally am not too enamoured with on our current van. In general it feels overall too flimsy in operating and is only fitted with two pads (front and back, nothing either side like the Al-ko).
There are a number of other members who say that Eribas nowadays have Knott T Pole chassis.
Well, I didn't know that. Anyone wish to comment? Better or worse, richer or poorer?

That's probably the answer John. Perhaps Hymer started using the BPW chassis in 2015 in which case Alan's vans could have had one of those and Hymer have only now changed to a Knott for the 2023 models.

I believe the vast majority of Eriba have always run on an Alko chassis with an Alko hitch. The exception was when a Winterhoff hitch was fitted and this was to a BPW chassis. Our 2006 Familia had this later set up and I found it the most positive to engage, quietest in running and felt better built than the 3 Alko hitches we have had.
For 2023, Eriba have in line with other Continental manufactures moved to a Knott hitch. They are a cheaper product, and I was informed by one dealer part of a cheaper and more lightweight chassis/hitch combination.

Not a great surprise that they are cheaper... So many manufacturers - in all products - are trying to keep their overall prices down by using cheaper components. If you remember, recently, there was a great chicken shortage when both KFC and Nando's ran out of chicken? This was because they both accepted a cheaper offer to supply them with chicken (normally supplied to them by food specialist company Bidvest), but it proved to be impossible for the new supplier to meet their supply quantities and so they have returned to the original company.

Our 2021 Troll 530 was on a Alko chassis and had the Alko hitch, Hymer have very recently opened their own Chassis plant so, it would not be a surprise if they were producing the chassis for the 2023 Eriba's in house, then fitting the Knott hitch which I believe is a cheaper option than Alko or Winterhoff. I would be interesting to know what running gear and brakes they are using, I suppose it would make sense if that were also Knott.
