Hi Guys, just thinking of fitting a solar panel. Will the fridge run efficiently off 12 volts or will I need an inverter for 240? Thanks in anticipation of your advice.

I think you'll find that you would need a very large solar panel and equally large bank of batteries to run a fridge 24 hours.

The majority of people opt for running fridge on gas when off grid.......as I do.

I use a 60W folding panel which can be positioned to collect the sun's rays effectively.

I can easily go for 7 days powering led lights, water pump, charging phones and tablets and a bit of TV via a 300W invertor. Still enough left in the leisure battery to use the motor mover to get off the pitch.

How do you connect into the Eriba electrics? Mine's a 2005, so am thinking it will be similar?

For my 2007 Triton I made up a short trailing lead with an Anderson connector to match the solar panel one end and a trailing 13 pin socket. I then plug the van's 13 pin pug in to the socket. The charge then goes directly through to the battery through the existing heavy duty cables. I can't remember the terminal numbers off hand, there's a thread on here somewhere about using the 13 pin plug for access.
