2000 Troll (530?)

Hi,
I'm new to the forum, but hoping to buy an eriba soon. I'm looking at a troll from 2000, but the owner doesn't know which variant it is. I don't really need to know at this stage, but I would like to verify the unladen and max laden mass. Can anyone point me towards a source of data which can help out? The one table I keep coming across online seems to have errors in it??
Thanks.

Welcome Liam. Unfortunately there is no definitive answer to your question. The vast majority of 2000 Trolls would have a max laden weight of 1000kg. I think around 2001200/2 the UK dealer of the time, Lechdale, stated offering vans with a GT pack and axle upgrade to 1200kg.
If you could get some photos of the van I'm sure we would be able to help you determine the model, and if you can get a photo of the plate next to the door then the weights issue could be answered.

Thanks Colin, I'll upload a photo of the weight plate, which I assume means the MTPLM is 1000kg, as the plate would have been altered if it had the upgrade. I'm also keen to know the unladen mass, and wondered if knowing the model would help. Thanks

Liam,
another anorak should be able to decode the plate for you, but it looks like a 530 or 540. The 540 has two long sofas at the back so you can sleep along the van.
I cannot find a 2000 brochure, but can tell you your model is not a GT as it does not have the white over silver outside colours. The empty weight should be about 850kg.

Thanks Colin,
Using the very helpful diagrams in eribafolk I agree that I think it is the 540. The beds seem long (but the lens 'exaggerates length'...), but also the front dinette is quite stubby:

There is a 2000 German brochure here

And a picture of a 530 here which shows the 530 has the door nearer to the wheel

That's so helpful, thanks Steve & Colin. Definitely a Troll LMT (I guess that's a 540, non-gt). We now also want to paint the new van in a chilli-like decor...!!

Going by the interior is the only way to do it 😁 The plate on our Troll says it’s a 550 but it’s definitely a 530. I think the French just stuck whatever plate they had to hand on the vans, bit like the wiring really 🤪

Hi Liam and welcome to Eribafolk.
Yes, it's a 540 as the space between the side windows (kitchen and rear bedroom) is quite large and the door when open, overhanges the front. On the 530 there is only enough space between the windows to house an outside light and the door folds back against the side of the van.
I would also bet that it's a 1000kg van as although we can't see for the wheel trims are in the way, the 1000 kg model also only has 13" 4 stud wheels and not 14" 5 studs..
The paintwork is another give away to the date. The purple and yellow stripes gave way to an entirely different paint job as well as many other changes to rear lights, interior cupboards etc in around 2000.

Our 1999 530 is very similar but note the dimensions between the side windows and also the door position.
