Projector TV?

Hi all,
I’ve just been playing about with one of those mini-projectors at our son’s house. - you may know the sort; handheld with built in battery, Wi-Fi and sound.
It works great with a fire stick, and I thought it would be perfect for projecting onto the window blinds to watch a film at night.

Has anyone got this kind of system and have any recommendations regarding models, mounting etc.

I’m thinking the Slim ones would mount with Velcro to the roof or even under the cubbies opposite the window?

What do you use?

I don’t know anything about the technicalities I’m afraid so this is a useless post. It just triggered memories of the Corby Meet where one night Michelle ( no longer an Eriba owner) showed a film on the side of our van. We all sat round with blankets over our knees until late watching it. I do remember being fascinated by how compact the projector was,
Hope there’s someone out there who’s more use than me 😁

Sounds like a great idea. Will look into it - I love a bit of tech...

Very boring, us, just download what we want from Netflix onto the laptop and watch TV Mucho.

We’ll we’ve been watching Netflix films on a ma-husive screen; 8ft wide, just using a projector about the size of 2 packs of cards!

The firestick plugs in direct and sorts out the streaming bit, plus it’s driving a Bluetooth speaker for a great cinema experience!
(Of course, you need dark conditions, but ‘riba blinds are pretty good for that!)

Can’t wait to get home to Blighty and make my purchase now!😁🤪

I'm trying to work out which window you'd use to get 2 people comfy to watch.

My apologies for diluting the post/going off at a tangent.

I suppose that would depend upon your van of choice. Like you we have a 430 and found the best place for a TV was at the foot of the bed area.
Although we use a normal TV I went an alternative route on fixing. I fitted a stainless bar handle under the top cabinet, with a TV and 12v power point inside the cabinet. This is fed over the top of the cabinets from the wardrobe area, with a hook up point for TV aerial fed through were the mains hook up is.

I think I’ll be mounting the projector on a Velcro patch in the middle of the rear ceiling area near the vent. I did a test on our son’s system last night and at a distance of 3-4 foot it will fill the side blind on our 530 (not fixed bed). That will do for watching when the bed is made up. This should be pretty much the same result as your setup Colin.
…then I’m thinking if I mount it below the scissors of the back of the pop-up mechanism, it should fill the rear blind and we can sit on the benches facing the rear.
- needs testing when it turns up, which is why I was canvassing for ideas and experience.👍

We mount a projector on the Aluminium frame around the opening roof. A home made bracket just hooks over and fixes to the tripod mound on the projector.
The rear blind equates to about 40" screen size.

Ah yes! I remember it well! The film was The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp as Tonto - sort of had a dead crow on his head!

Chezmart, that’s exactly the detail I’m after!
Have you photos of your bracket and details of the projector?
Thanks, Steve.

I will take a picture of the bracket when I get chance.

The Projector is a Anker Nebula Mars II Pro. Not cheap but very good and it can be updated to run Google Play so access to download all streaming apps like Netflix etc.

I've bought a mini projector - ordered it yesterday on Prime - arrived today. An Akiyo - just over £50 with a fiver off. Haven't tried it out yet, but it's sooo small! Amazing. Apparently (according to reviews) it will project up to equivalent of a 100" screen, which should work fine in the Triton... I was thinking the best use might be to fire it vertically up on to the underside of the pop up roof...
