Awning light 2016 530
Our outside awning light (2016 Troll 530) has started playing up this weekend, the “permanently on” function works ok but when on the “sensor” setting it flickers on and off continuously. I’ve searched for a replacement unit but can’t find one. IMO looks like a sensor fault rather than a bulb issue……has anyone advice on repair or replacement please? Many thanks

I'm guessing the fitting is an all in one affair and the sensor and light are not two separate units. Plan A, I would contact a Hymer/Eriba dealer to get a part number and price. The odds are you will fall over at the price and then go to plan B. Remove the existing unit and look for a makers mark that you do an internet search on.

Hi Colin, yes the sensor is integrated into the unit. Regardless of price I find it really difficult to source any parts for the Eriba dealers, last year we were off the road for 7 weeks trying to source the pop top catches, eventually got them from the Retro Classic guy in France. The thought of looking for an Eriba part sort of gives me the sinking feeling I get when I eventually know I have to see my GP

As a temporary measure you could disconnect wiring to the back of the switches whilst awaiting a part. I'm awaiting parts for another Eriba and the dealer has said 2 to 4 weeks for delivery to them from order.

I do not know if this has the built in sensor. It may be worth a phone call:- Werbung: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184437088072?...ABk9SR_qK-ez-YQ

One thing's certain, Mick, Hymer don't make the light fitting themselves so if you can find a manufacturer's name on the unit you could try finding one of their distributors. I've done it with Hella light fittings and saved a lot of money.

I am finding Kool Classics pretty helpful for obscure parts and they have been willing to dig for parts that aren't commonplace, or are upgrades. Maybe because they are relatively new to the scene? They actually seem to be enthusiasts and keen to help. I wanted to add the glass splash guard that newer Eribas have next to the stove and they have sourced the part from Hymer for me by using a VIN number off a van they had in stock. Very helpful.
Like Aaron Calder, i have also sourced new Hella light fittings independently of Hymer. I daren't think how much "official" replacements cost...
