In praise of Adventure Leasure Vehicles (ALV)

In February we swapped our Eriba Triton 420 GT for a new Eriba Troll 542 GT Legend at ALV.
I have to say the service was impeccable, they went out of their way to make the exchange and handover smooth, and to top it off Ernie, "the fastest milkman in the west" ( his words because it makes you remember him) those of you who can remember Benny Hill will know what he means, spent two hours handing over showing everything about the caravan and general tips about Caravanning. Something that's never happened to me before having had three previous vehicles from different companies.
Now then, yesterday we moved the caravan onto our drive to load up ready for our trip tomorrow. Low and behold to our horror the caravan was listed to one side and on checking we found the nearside wheel was touching the bodywork. There was no way we could drive with it like this.
So as it was only 3 months old we tried ringing ALV, we had to leave a message as they are closed on Sundays.
At 8:15 this MORNING ALV rang us up to say it sounded like the suspension had gone and they would change the whole axle. As we were arranging to transport it to ALV they rang back to say they were sending two men down to us to fix it in situ.
At 10:30 John and Adrian arrived and proceeded to change over the axle for a new one. Job completed at 12 noon.

I have nothing but praise for ALV, they saved our holiday in double quick time.

Maybe, if you've you got the new Knott chassis, the replacement is easier.

It's good to read a post like this.

We didn't buy our 540 from them ( which Mike gave us some gentle ribbing about in the first few years) but they have done all our servicing since, and we have been very happy with them.

Also need to say that we were very happy with the service Cameron gave us when we purchased from what is was Automotive Leisure.

Others on the Forum may not share that view due to their experiences but you can only comment on the service you have had yourself.

Enjoy your Troll
