My next improvement job
We've owned our Puck for 20 years this July 29th (purchased July 2003) the time has come to change all the window gaskets.
I tried two mobile service engineers to undertake the job to no avail, my next port of call was to one of the largest caravan centres in the black country, I was meet with the question do you have a profile of the gasket. In my book that means I would have to remove the fixed window (doing half the job) to get a sample of the gasket.
In the end it was a case of you source the materials and We'll fit them.
Me being me , I've found the tools needed, silicone spray mastic and gasket and do the job myself, Arthritis joints an all.
Phillip

I believe koolclasdics have the fixed and opening window seals.

I made some guides how to change your seals on the forum. A caravan engineer will charge you a kings Ransom to fit them for you

Hi Phillip, I did this job and used the guides above. All I can advise is that for the fixed windows you consider installing the window seals onto the removed windows and then put the window / seal back onto the van that way. I found it near impossible to install the window into the seal when the seal had been put onto the van. You should not need much force at all if you do what I suggest. You will need a helper for this job. Also buy some degreaser or similar to help clean the old mastic off. Thanks

First I've read Poptop's post very comprehensive. (brilliant)
mmcd87.
Thanks for the reply and tip fit the window into the gasket and then fit both to the van, strange my son has been refurbishing a Dethleffs (if that's spelled right) he was saying more or less the same thing, a devil of a job, in the end, he put the old gasket back in and used more mastic
The gasket and filler came today just waiting on the tools should be here Friday,
Phillip.

As I've not been able to refit the new gasket and window back into the Puck, I contacted the Eriba service agent at Broad Lane Leisure Alcester. They informed me on the phone this would be their first time doing this.
I have a feeling this is going to cost me big time, I've tried all ways to get the seal to stay on the window as you try and fit it but to no avail, just getting too old I guess

Angela was helping me poptop but it's not her forte bless her.
With all my health problems and just going through tests for cancer I'm as much use as a chocolate tea pop, so I've had to come to reality bite the bullet and pay.
