Awning 'skirts'

We have a Troll 540 and a Kampa Pop Air Pro awning. It also has an awning skirt, but how do you get it over the wheel arch? And the step?
We're confused 😀

It will go across the centre of the wheel and sag a little in the middle. We found it easiest to feed the skirt in from either side of the wheel feeding 1/2 to the front of the van and 1/2 towards the back. You can attempt to cut a flap in the skirt, but I never managed a good neat job on this and latterly left the skirt intact and bought a cheap step.

Second the step idea. Also useful to help you reach up to feed in the awning/canopy.
