Battery on the Eriba 320?

Does the Eriba 320 (French) have a battery? We have just sold our 555GT and considering downsizing. We definately are not getting any younger!!!
May we impose on your good natures and ask if the French 320 has a battery fitted? If not, which battery is required, obviously we would like it strong enough to install a mover. Hope you are all keeping well. Dafydd and Beryl

Batteries were not fitted as a matter of course to Eribas. A lot depends on the age.

A battery and motor mover add considerably to the payload and are therefore not so popular with the lighter models.

Having said that, it is relatively easy to fit a battery solely for use by a motor mover. It gets a bit more complicated if you want the 12Vdc integrated in to the rest of the Eriba's electrical system.

Our Dutch import van has a battery fitted purely for the mover. It was an 85ah which was fine if we didn’t need to do a lot of manoeuvring between charges as there isn’t a charging system in our van. We’ve upgraded now to a 110ah battery which is a lot heavier. Will you need to move the van a long way, up a slope or a tricky access? If so you may need the bigger battery, if not the 85ah should be fine. We carry a smart battery charger with us and just put the battery on charge the day before we leave site to keep it topped up for the next site move. This option is a lot cheaper than having a charging system fitted to the van.
Make sure you have a battery box fitted to secure the battery and I would avoid a lead acid “wet” battery because of the possibility of fumes, a Gel or AGM would be better. Lithium is an option if you have deep pockets.

Just for info - we're selling our 2009 320 (French build) in a couple of months (if not before) as we've ordered a 540 2024 model which we hope to get in April/May.

Our 320 is in great condition and has a 100Ah AGM battery (newish). No mover though that could be added. We did get a quote from Richard at Midland Motor Movers for a Reich mover but decided we didn't need it as two of us can easily man-handle the 320. Battery charging is via the on-board BIP although I'm currently adding a Ctek smart charger to replace the BIP charging as the latter is a pretty crude charger IMHO.

On electric hookup you will have 230V for water heating and the 'Ultraheat' heating system with warm-air blowing.

PM me if interested in our 320 - we are in Wiltshire.

Proposing to sell with Soplair awning and Protec winter cover, as well as other bits (wheel clamp, hitch lock etc).

Pete

Basically a battery is not standard on Touring range vans but it is a factory fit option, along with the means to charge and run it. Some vans have the systems built in later on so there can beall sorts of different systems and sizes of battery, some professional, some very much DIY. So a French van can have all sorts.
