Another silly question re Caravan Covers

So, this year I have decided my van needs to be covered due to the amount of "green stuff" it gets. I plan to get it cleaned over the next few days but is there a good time to cover it, October, November etc as it won't probably be used until March 25

If I were you I'd get it washed and covered on the first dry day you get.

Hi Bryn

We're a bit like Randa in that after we have decided we are finishing for the season, the first dry day that arrives I give it a good clean and polish, move it to its winter position, put it on its mini wheel ramps (to prevent a flat spot on the tyres) and then put the cover on and get it tied down. We usually take the upholstery inside as well.

This year we have booked a late trip to York to meet up with some friends from Leeds so we will be covering up in early November. We will probably look to uncover towards the end of March depending on the weather.

Cheers
MikeT

Brian, we both know what the weather is like down here in Devon. When we get back from a trip I always clean the van and get the cover on ASAP. I'm surrounded by trees and they make a mess of the van, so saves me a lot of work and it always looks good when we go away.

Hi Bryn
I forgot to say that when we get the odd dry day I sometimes unzip the door cover and leave the door open to get some fresh air into the Troll.

Also I have become a geek for insulating round the taps and water system thoroughly to protet the taps from frost damage

We leave a frost-heater plugged in over winter. We could use the truma at 500w but I’d rather not make it work that hard for extended periods so we bought a £20 heater.
