It is perfectly legal and many have done it, but you will have to check/notify your insurance company. The standard 2L diesel Yeti [which I owned for 5 yeras] was a 110bhp, but was also available in 140 and 170 bhp levels of tune due to a larger turbo and other bits. You can safely take the 110bhp to 140-150 bhp with a re-map, but over that I seem to recall the manual gearbox would give problems as it really was at the limit of what it could safely handle.
If you go onto the Briskoda forum you'll find lots of info. You would need to use a reputable company such as Celtic Tuning who I believe can do the work through outlets across the country.
As a side note, there is one Yeti owner who swapped his diesel out for a 5 cylinder Audi petrol engine, with big turbo and extensive tuning mods. From the outside it looked like a bog standard blue Yeti. A few years ago I recall it was running at 700bhp.

I had my old Volvo V70 2.0 5 cylinder diesel remapped from 163bhp/400Nm torque to 188bhp/450Nm torque. It made a big difference to towing. That level of power was available as standard in other models. I am now running a Volvo V40 D4 2 litre diesel, which - as standard - runs 190bhp/400Nm, but is official Volvo (Polestar) upgradeable to 200bhp/440Nm. I will probably do that as it boosts the mid range far more than the nominal 10bhp suggests. It is also twin turbo, which gives more pull from low revs, which will help with caravan tugging.

Oh yes - it is very economical. But then it does weigh considerably less :-) The D4 is averaging 52 mpg on local journeys - I'm off to Malvern and back tomorrow, so will see what it achieves on a good run. The later V70 D5s were twin turbo - putting out over 200bhp.
