Not sure if it improves our pride and joy but it makes us feel a little safer.
For those Eribafolk who don’t have the luxury of a third brake light here’s and easy and effective solution; a high level brake light up against the rear window, inside the Eriba.
A) Firstly, we purchased an LED brake light off the internet. There are many to choose from.
B) Locate the existing brake light wiring to the rear of the Eriba. We found ours in a junction box on the floor under the cross bolster to the rear of the van but it can also be traced running from the front to the rear of the van along a chassis member, before entering the van at the rear.
C) Break into the existing wiring and connect up the new LED light, ensuring that there is plenty of spare flex.
• 1) This photograph shows a timber frame assembly, made up from 2” x 1” softwood. This includes a 6mm fully threaded bolt, 2 washers, a spring washer and a nut (preferably a wing nut). Obviously, if you have access to and can work with better materials then a far neater job could be made of it.
• 2) Shows a side view of the arms that hold the LED light as close to the window as possible as well as missing the window blind cassette. Please note that I had to tape the ends of the light to the framework as there was no other obvious way of fixing it.
• 3) Shows a 6mm clearance hole drilled into the centre of the rear window pelmet.
• 4) Shows the assembly being offer up behind the pelmet before being bolted in and hand tightened.
• 5) and 6) Shows the assembly in place.

The light, when not in use, is taken down and stored under the seat with the wires still attached. Although this was built as a prototype and I had every intention of smartening it up a bit, it works so well that I’ve decided to leave it as it is. After all, it only gets fitted when travelling and taken down after safe arrival at the camp site.
We’ve also cut down an orange reflective vest and sewn it into a tube shape before inserting a strip of cardboard to flatten and stiffen it up. This is hung between the rear window handles of the Eriba when we travel.

OK, we ARE paranoid about being hit up the arse and we think that with these two additions we have done everything possible, short of fitting some rear bull bars.
We do of course, have to take extra precautions now that we are sporting an attractive Eribafolk sticker in our back window.

Similarly arse-end impact paranoiacs without Randa-like constructional skills could fit a proprietary light unit that sticks to the rear window with adhesive pads like this.
Not bad for the price.

This might be what you need.
May well be slim enough for the blind to clear, and you can swivel the light inside the housing to make sure it shines out in the right direction irrespective of the angle of the window.

Hi Randa,
May be it is not at the best place to write and put my question, then should I open a new dicussion?
I am trying to choose between installing the 3rd led light (of brake) inside the caravan or outside, what would be the advantages and disadvantages between both possibilities. For example no problem for me, in case installing inside the caravan if I have to assembly and disassembly every time I have to travel. Could be seen better outside or been installed easier if it is everything inside, without touching the caravan back-side ...
Thank you for any question,
roke

Hi Roke.
I've moved your post to this location.
As you see, I chose to add my 3r brake light to the inside window of the Eriba so, as you say, I have to remove it every time we set up camp.
The only reason I did it this way is because I didn't want to drill holes in skin of the van. Probably outside would have been better.
