How to send and receive private messages
Some of you may be familiar with phpBB forums and others not familiar with forums at all
The system for personal messages is somewhat different here and the aim of this topic is to explain to the layman\newcomer both how to send private messages and to read messages received.
Reasons to use the pm system.......
You want to give someone your home address\phone number\email address (it is not wise to post this sort of information on open forum)
You want to enquire about an item for sale ...............and so on..............
How to send a pm (private message)
First find a post from the person you wish to send a message to..................
Right click on their name and a new box will appear

Here you can click on "send private message"
Which will open the "create new message" page this is very similar to posting a message except you need to enter a subject for the message

Once you have composed your message to your satisfaction you can click "preview" to see how it will look ..........when you are happy click "Submit" to send your message.

How to read your personal messages
You suddenly get an email telling you "you have a pm" or someone tells you they have sent you a "pm"
And you wonder how do I read that?
Ok so here's how its done..............first you need to be logged into the forum
place your mouse pointer over your name at the top of the page

A drop down box will appear as if by magic

Click on "private messages" and a page will open with your messages received at the top ......................if you have sent messages and selected "save a copy" these should be further down the same page
All you then need to do is click on the message to read it.
