Hi,
I have had an Eriba Puck for a year now and love it! It's a 1990, in very good condition and very comfortable.
It came to me with an awning which is good to use when I have friends staying with me but I am now looking for something that is a bit smaller and quicker to put up....think what I am looking for is called a porch awning.
Please could someone help with advise about small, easy to erect porch awnings for a 1990 Puck? Or am I seeking the impossible?!!
Cheers!

Not sure if you are new in here but nice to hear from you anyway. Sorry, can't help with the awning issue but someone will.

Our Triton came with two awnings, a Soplair 'Bourgogne' (fibre pole) full awning and an AL (aluminium pole) porch awning.
We found that they both weighed about the same, took a similar amount of time to erect but the porch was too small to be worth all the faffing about needed to put the damned thing up.
We sold the porch.

Hello Sal. Welcome to Eribafolk.
We don't see many Pucks with porch awnings around but they must be available because one of our members, Poptop 320 has posted a photo of one on his Puck that he once owned (he's now gone superbig with a Familia ). Here's the photo:- g8p383-Porch-awning-for-a-Puck.html
I don't know how easy a porch awning is to erect as opposed to a full awning however. Some people say they take just as much time. Perhaps Poptop 320 can advise you when he's next on line.
Another solution is something like the Movelite type of awning. One of our son's has one on his small van and its very easy to erect.
There's a similar idea from another of our members, The Highlanders. They have adapted one from a tent g66-Cheap-awning-for-Puck.html g66p747-image.html

I have a Khyam tailgate tent for my van which is based on the Khyam motordome, and I can put this up and peg down in 15 mins. These are of the same genre as the ones Randa mentioned (also Outwell and Vango) and are all pictured in the awning section. The quick up awnings are made from tent material so you will get some wind rustle compared to the heavier material of the traditional awnings. Member Ellen has a Khyam if you want to know more.

Just thought, Khyam also due a sun canopy that I want for the side of the van. It has sides and a front that can be purchased separately that might be worth looking at. it seems very versatile. I have no experience of them but their other products are good quality.

Thank you for that information. I have spoken to AL today and they say that the porch tent will not fit my Puck. So will look for something else which is hopefully bit cheaper too!

Thank you very much Randa, that's great information for me to work on!
It seems that these types of awnings for motor/campervans are better value than the caravan awnings which are too big for my little Puck anyway!
Cheers

Thanks for welcome!
What do you recommend to get such a shiny/waxy finish like you seem to have on your Eriba in the photo?
Mine is in need of something to discourage the green stuff!

Hello PuckSal and welcome. We purchased our van this year and it was very dull and green around the edges! We did some research and decided to try a yacht chandlery. He recommended Starbrite Fiberglass Color Restorer with PTEF and a lot of elbow grease! Used the scratch proof pads you can get for baths and little by little the van color and part shine came back. When the whole van was done, we had to wash it with yacht wash. The next job was to polish the van with Syarbrite Premium Marine Polish with PTEF. This job was much easier as we used an electric buffer (£15 from Aldi and brill) after applying the cream with a cloth. The end finish was far better than we could of expected. You can see our van in the gallery under Eriba Future. I expect spent 150 hours doing the whole van, but think it has been well worth it. I believe Starbrite can be bought on the net if you haven't got a chandlery near you. Good Luck...
