We had a pleasant morning at the Ocean Terminla, Soton on Saturday at the Maritime Festival. Loads of old boats from Dunkirk etc and all sorts of steam driven craft, plus tall masts, tugs and stuff. We didn't fancy the on site food, usual fast food rubbish and went along to a good nearby pub, but it was rammed for an ale and blues festival and hadn't started that early, so Carole said lets go to the Isle of Wight. The terminal was across the road and we made it onto a Red Jet hydrofoil, 25 mins and in Cowes.
Straight into the pub right on the quay, good chat and lunch and then a walk along the esplanade wanting to see two cruise ships depart Soton and also one of the tall ships Tenacious. Did that but not the tall ship and then wandered in town and caught a Rad Jet and then bus passes used home.
