We have an older (1989) Pan Duo.
The ceiling appears to be some kind of fabric, also on the walls.

Do you reckon it is ok to wash these or should I leave alone.
Could it do any harm?

Hi Christine. I've put the question to a dealer of classic Eribas and am awaiting a reply.
Does the fabric look like a beige hessian material?

Yes, I think that's what it is.
It looks as if it could be washable, but would be best to find out first.

Hi Christine and John.
This is what Claire of http://koolclassics.com/ has suggested.

"Hi Randa. I would brush down then spot clean any stains with diluted flash on a damp cloth then, all over with the same solution and again a damp cloth."

If it is a type of hessian though, I would be very gentle with it Perhaps try it on a small area first?

Thanks for help, yes I think the way to go is 'gentle'.
