Hi, just thought i'd introduce myself - currently own a 1983 vw T3 camper, but we are thinking of selling it next year and getting an Eriba. I need something that is 3 berth (two adults and a ten year old), and I need to be able to tow it behind a VW new beetle, so thinking Pan Familia. We like retro stuff, so I was thinking a 70's or 80's model.

I've got a ton of questions, but i'll try to pace myself :)

One thing I would like to know though is roughly what length is the bed across the front of a Pan Familia? Would it sleep an adult/ teenager or is it a child-bed only?

Hi Rick and welcome to Eribafolk.
I think I'm right in saying that the beds on all models of Pan/Familia are across van sleepers. There are various arguments regarding the height an individual needs to be under, to sleep comfortably in an across sleeper Eriba. Certainly if you're less than 6' tall then you should have no problem. Above that and it can get a little tight.

Loads of '70's/80's Pans around. Depends where you wish to shop and what you expect to give for one. If you wish to purchase from a dealer then there's a list of UK dealers in the LInks section below. All are very helpful and some of the smaller suppliers specialise in the classic models. It's worth dropping them a line now. Have you thought of buying one from abroad? The Netherlands or Belgium? There are a few folk who've gone that route and have had good deals. Dubdayz for instance, has just picked up a Puck from Belgium.
If you don't fancy a trip abroad yourself, there is a guy who specialises in importing vans for you. He's Dom Fox and has a good reputation. I'm sure someone will come along soon and give you a link to him.
Meanwhile, please keep asking the questions and we'll all do our best to answer them for you.
