Most people will be familiar with phpBB forum software and some not familiar with forums at all.
The software we use here is somewhat different to phpBB and takes a little getting used to particularly when adding images.
This post is by way of a "how to" add images and will include screen-shots as illustration

Step one is to click "Attach file"

Step two is to click "Browse"

A new box appears where you can navigate to the image you wish to post............once you reach the desired image click on it and the image name will be in the "Browse" box

The next step is to click the "Upload" box

You are almost there now click in your message where you want your image to be and click "Insert"

A new box will appear like this

where you click "insert image" and thats about it.............................hopefully

Just a note to say please resize images a little if they are very large to allow for viewing on low speed connections before uploading , images uploaded to the forum in this way will appear in posts as thumbnails ...........to see the full sized image just click on it

If you want to see how it looks before posting click on preview and you should see your image in your post in thumbnail form click on it and a new tab should open to show your image ............... don't forget to click submit afterwards to make your post

Edit to say if you click on the image thumbnails above they open in a new tab to make them easier to see

To add pictures in edit mode click on attach file and follow the above procedure

Is there a way to add photos to a reply? There doesn't seem to be an add file button when using Quick Reply?

Belay that! Found out how to do it. Post your reply then go to EDIT and you can add photos as per the original post.

Can you delete images posted in error ?

If so, how do you do it?

The answer is yes if its hosted off site at somewhere like photobucket

Since I wrote this " how to" topic the forum software providers (Xobor) have done a deal with an off site photo storage site to help "aim" their advertising at those forums where the advertising has not been removed.

So now there is a link to an offsite photo storage area as seen in this screen shot

I am wanting to add a pic to a post, but when I click 'Attach file', the dialog box that comes up is all in German! I guess I can look up the German for 'browse', 'upload' and 'insert'... :/

Just use the "attach file" option at the bottom, then choose files and upload. Oh I see what you mean, its when you edit an existing post it works ok for new posts!

Ah, the 'Attach file' didn't look like a link, and next to it was an obvious link with German including the word 'fotos', so I'd clicked that. Having now tried clicking on the actual words 'Attach file', I have managed to add my pic. Thanks all.
