I remember a topic on here extolling the virtues of when we were young............and to be honest I don't totally disagree with the philosophy or the moral values therein, however every coin has 2 sides and you (or I) do have to marvel at the changes that have happened in my 62 year lifetime

Here I am in my own home talking (potentially) to the whole world after watching a video on a thing called a computer connected to a super quality tv which is also playing my music without a record or even cd in sight after watching a guy in Australia unwrapping a new camera one handed while filming it all on a telephone with no cables in the other hand



Then another guy who speaks a totally different language to me showing how it can video the moon in a way NASA never dreamed of when I was a boy



And the camera costs about 1 weeks wages before I retired

When I was a kid we never had a TV or a phone at home .............i had to go to a box in the town to call my future wife on a big Bakelite thing and feed coins in a slot to keep the connection open

And now I can watch TV that comes down my phone line and the phone still works too ....................progress..............like it or not we live in exiting times and they say technology will expand at an ever increasing rate .....................so where will we be this time next year ...........................probably at a steam rally with no electric

I forgot to say this is a still image camera that also takes video as an option...................remember those rolls of film you had to buy ..................expose then wait a week to get processed and pay for those prints ..............most of which went in the bin if you were as bad as I was at photography

Ah yes the good old days, I remember my aunt's farmhouse, no inside sanitation or running water, water was taken from a stream by the kitchen door, the washing was also done in said stream summer and winter, the toilet was built over the stream [ down river ] and you did NOT hang about in there in the winter, mind you she lived to be 103.
