attaching an awning

We have a good local supplier who gives lots of advice and shows diagrams and videos on their website about attaching awnings. As our new-to-us Triton has the track to which an awning can be fitted, we are planning to use a drive away, airframe awning so that the extra canvas between awning and van is at a suitable height. The information that we are short of is:
. do you need to remove the? rubber? insert of the track
. if so, does it need to be replaced once the awning is removed
. if the rubber insert has to be removed, what is a good way to store it
. we don't think that the Triton has ever had an awning fitted, so it seems that the rubber insert, which seems to be continuous, will need to be cut
. there are two screwed - in stop ends either end of the track where the awning would be situated. Any ideas how to remove them - they are solid
. do they have to be replaced after every use of the awning

Sorry to be so naive

unless you have a rain strip fitted in the channel with 2 round things with screws in to hold the strip in place
I would say your looking at the screw cover strip which holds the rail on to caravan, this is silver in the picture located in ef gallery yours may be white

the awning channel is above and is accessed via the opening wider area near the corner of eriba.

hope this helps sorry not a very good picture, it was originally to show the new awning channel strip attached, when altered long ago

Hello 540

You and Hob are quite right, we were looking in the wrong place. Now we can carry on with choosing a our awning.

Many thanks
