Advice Please

Having now acquired a Reda vera awning I need to fit a central location "whatsit" to the Eriba, to take the short centre back pole, when assembling the awning should I
1. Slide the awning into the van and assemble the frame under it?
2. Assemble the frame and stand it by the van in order to fit the short pole location "whatsit" and then slide the awning through?
3. Take my drill to Morbihan and let someone else do it?

As ever I rely on all you experts to come up with the best solution, many thanks in advance

Brian, until someone comes along with a better answer, here's my thoughts on it.
a) It looks like the door of the Familia is too far forward to open right back within the awning so will only open to 90 degrees up against the side wall of the awning.
b) I assume you have the quoted erected width of the awning as per the sales literature?
Therefore what I would try and do is firstly roughly mark out on the Eriba awning rail where the sides of the awning should be, using the quoted width. Obviously ensure that both sides are clear of the van door and rear dinette window but don't mark it too far forward or back so that you're on the curved corners of the van.
Once satisfied, find the mid point of the quoted width and mark and fix the centre bracket.
Slide the awning into the awning rail and start to assemble, using the firmly fixed centre bracket to work from. Be careful not to scratch the van with the as yet, unsecured side poles. By tensioning the rear slope poles and ensuring that the awning fabric is tight, finally mark and fix the side brackets, ie. if the Vera has side brackets and is not reliant on sucker pads or whatever.
Don't take this as Gospel however for I've never had to fix brackets myself.

Having sought out a photo since I posted the above Brian, I now see that it's a curved roof but I stand by my thoughts concerning fixing the centre bracket.
Good Luck.

Sorry about the very long delay, but here goes: (1) I have never attempted to erect it by myself, always the two of us. (2) It comes in two sacks, one for the awning and the other for the aluminium poles, they are nice and light. (3) Attach the beading into the beading rail. (I have had an extra rail fitted to the other side of the van so that the awning can be fitted either side or a sun shade fitted at the same time as the awning). (4) Don't worry about the pole diagram, it's very easy to assemble.
We usually assemble the roof section on the ground, attach the legs then offer it up to the van. We then pull the awning cover over the frame then raise the legs to the correct height. Side and front walls can then be added as and when desired.

Last thing is I tell the wife that she is the best at pegging out then leave her to it.

Sorry, but only just read your other post regarding the caravan rear centre support pole. I have a 235 gt so a bit different from the 310 gt (door on the other side) but the same length caravan. .............

After following my last post to you go as far as pulling the awning over the frame. then simply line the frame up so that the centre is in line with the black bracket, the one thats attached to the van. Once that has been done place the support pole in position and that should be it. ( I use the loose step to gain the extra height when attaching the pole as the 230 gt model does not have a pull out step!)
