What a waste of an Airstream

Current antique show on telly with that ponce Tim Summerhat towing a big Airstream around the country and sitting out side and spouting.
We never see inside it. I have always wanted to see a model that is presumably in good nick.
What is the point? On the moving parts of the film you see obvious curiosity as he goes through towns etc. It's bound to attract folk round it when parked in privedged spots, so that must be the only idea. Pah!!!

Strangely, there is one between Stroud and Cirencester at an old service station, it is used as a small on site cafe, and in Bristol above the old market there are at least 2 maybe 3 up on the roof of another eatery, I don't know if they are part of the eatery or not.
Such a shame to see these iconic vehicles used in such a manner but I guess they are a win win, you buy them for £££££ and years later you sell them for either the same or even more £££££ as they have become even more iconic!

Airstream at CCC site at Chertsey taken last November. I believe the owner told me it is a 1986 model 'Safari', restored in beautiful condition. Unfortunately didn't have the opportunity to get inside. I did however see another last year in Devon, owned by a 'cabinet maker' who'd refitted the interior as a showroom for his carpentry - superb !Airstream Chertsey 1114.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

Chris Packham used to own one maybe still does, occasionally saw it in his garden when he was presenting from home

The closest we've been is a quick look in the window of one that was being refurbished for rental on a camp site in Aups.

The one we always remember was one obviously owed by a Posh Heavy Metal fan and it was parked amongst a load of sleeping bags, pup tents and litter, the remnants of a weekend concert on the downs above the Lorelie Rocks in the Rhine valley.

I like them but apparently they leak a lot! And to be honest they're not really me

Have taken a look inside a few at Airstream's based in Cumbria and to be honest the build quality is some what cheap and nasty with all that plastic.
I think you'd be better off purchasing a nice Eriba Nova S if you've got around £40 / £50K to spend on a caravan.

Having used, (and cleaned !) my sister-in-law's new Airstream in Florida I've had the chance to closely inspect build quality - and I have to say that I find it a little lacking in places Don't let my sister-in-law know I've said this The sealing on the roof area particularly looks like it was put on with a trowel ! I've heard they do leak and have condensation problems, but no worries in Florida ! I still think they look fantastic DSCF1192 copy.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

I think we saw the complete range of Airstreams when on our tour this year including some enormous triple axle versions. I think I might have pics which I will look for to post.
