Insurance for an older Eriba

We have a 1984 Eriba Familia which we bought just a couple of weeks ago. As it cost a fair amount more than our previous old banger caravans we thought we should insure it. I've spent an hour searching online today and it seems that only Adrian Flux will insure it as its over 30 years old. I don't want to pay Flux's prices (£200+) as I only want basic theft / damage insurance as bikes etc are covered on the household policy. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hi Sarah.
I hear that the following insurance brokers are often used for classic caravans:-
https://www.lookinsuranceservices.co.uk/
http://www.kdibonline.co.uk/
They are both K.Drewe Insurance Brokers and I did read that somebody last year insured a 1961 Puck with them.
Hope they can help you. Let us know.
Randa

thanks Randa. I called them and they are very competitive at £72.72. we are now insured, yeah. so much cheaper and friendlier than flux.

That's interesting…caravan club insured mine…it's from 1981. But I paid more than this…will investigate further when it's renewal time

I didn't want to join the Caravan Club as we rarely use a regular campsite as we do a lot of vintage festivals and car rallies. The insurance with KDrewe is basic but the house insurance already covers our possessions and bikes when we are away so thats all we needed. They insist on either a wheel clamp or hitch lock, but that seems sensible.

I have just brought a 1990 Puck and got a quote from https://www.lookinsuranceservices.co.uk/ It was £105.12, which I thought was very good and will be ringing them in the morning to accept it.
