A new rear parcel shelf for our Ford C-Max is £124 !!!!!!!!!!!!!

That is a rip off

I have searched loads of car breakers and they don't have one. Apparently lots of people forget them when doing a self carwash

The owner of the VAG specialist that I use told me recently that many Ford replacement parts are now more expensive than their Audi equivalents, so I can well believe it.

That doesn't mean that I understand it though.

think Bentley? perhaps another make was on telly the super car super build series on quest
they leave a brand new car in the desert to see if all the manufacturing is up to scratch, no parts bow or degrade, impressive viewing how they build these cars and the lengths they go to, to ensure they have done everything possible to make the perfect car.
I guess your boot parcel shelf wasn't under such scrutiny...

Could you add a couple of wooden battens on the underside and screw through from the top? Worked on a VW Polo rear shelf for us some years ago.

I wouldn't say the result was perfect but at least you could put a sweater on the shelf without it folding in half...
