The owner of the VAG specialist that I use told me recently that many Ford replacement parts are now more expensive than their Audi equivalents, so I can well believe it.
That doesn't mean that I understand it though.

Hi Derek, try fabdirect on ebay, they list good quality scrap bits, don't be put off when it says BMW breaker, they handle ALL makes, even got some Maserati bits in if not listed still worth a call

think Bentley? perhaps another make was on telly the super car super build series on quest they leave a brand new car in the desert to see if all the manufacturing is up to scratch, no parts bow or degrade, impressive viewing how they build these cars and the lengths they go to, to ensure they have done everything possible to make the perfect car. I guess your boot parcel shelf wasn't under such scrutiny...
