Just thought I'd share this with you all, we were coming home from a dinner out at about 10:30 PM and got a warning light on the car, low tyre pressure.
Pulled to the side of the motorway and by the time we came to a standstill the near side front tyre was flat. No spare wheel, got out a product called Goop which I purchased for just this occasion. I remove the tyre valve pumped in the Goop replace the tyre valve and reinflate the tire after first rolling the car backwards and forwards about two revolution of the tyre. It stopped the leak and got us home.
In the morning took the tyre to a local repair shop, he was able to clean out the Goop because it's water-soluble and repaired the tyre. All good.
Would also be good for caravan tyres, you do need a compressor.
I found it quicker than changing a wheel and safer.

That's interesting !!............I've got some sort of junk for pumping in the tyre, in event of a puncture........which thankfully I haven't had to use (so far) in my usual panic....... I would most likely pump it in, without reading the instructions par for the course. I didn't realise the valve is supposed to be removed first, prior to pumping in the gloop !! I think I'd best read the instructions now...before the event.........I'd feel more in control for if it did happen less panic Good call. Ian.
