We (wife Dodo and I John) have been Eriba Troll owners for about 4 years now and love the AA life (Aluminium, Aircraft)... I was (am?) a member of the "old" forum but found I couldn't get back in. (is there an issue there we not talk about?) ... so came here to give it a try! I have a bit of information and a request...

1. Been on two sites recently a CL in Hebden Bridge where there was an Eriba Troll next to us (pic attached) owned by Kevin and ? And then a couple of weeks ago in Resipole saw three Eribas 2 x Troll and 1 x Puck... Never seen so many before!

2. Our troll is 2006 and the aluminium front panels (gas hatch and the triangular bits either side) have little "spider" aluminium, rust marks - tney may be stone chips. I was about to strip down to bare aluminium, repolish and varnish when I researched varnishing aluminium and it looks horrendously difficult... So, I am thinking of using Silver Hammerite... Any thoughts - experience of this?

Good to be in contact!

Welcome John.
The alternative to varnish would be clear lacquer though it would be a pain to mask off for spraying ...........sometimes you can spray a bit into the cap then paint it on with a brush (handy for those awkward little area's)

You should have seen our meet at Stratford upon Avon earlier this year ...............there were 32 Eriba's there

Hi Dodo and John and welcome to Eribafolk. We seem to remember Derek (Hampshireman) talking about the locker box issue on here last year. We're sure he'll pick up on it when he's next on-line.

Welcome Leafman.

The aluminium 'corrosion' is a little unsightly but not desperately important. The cure may be too much effort!

To 'Eribafolk' - definitely the "Friendly" Forum . Have you considered using an appropriate (silver ?) car paint aerosol , or clear lacquer ? Whatever treatment you use, you should clean off the existing lacquer and corrosion using something like 'wire-wool' ! Good luck :)
