We were coming back from a day out in Stratford on Avon yesterday and took the scenic route past Long Marston, through Broadway and Winchcombe. We got on the M5 for the short hop between Cheltenham and Gloucester past the very good and highly acclaimed new services😎😎😎 when we saw 5 what I would call "pink panthers" although not Land Rovers, they were driven by fully togged up ready for action masked men / girls?

In 24 years in the Army, I only ever remember seeing them in uniform once before! Seen them loads and worked with them extensivley, but we were all quite taken aback.

Good to see this type of stuff, I don't belong to any "after service" clubs / organisations, that was then this is me now. But I still support the Armed Forces through charity etc.

We were working on a building overlooking Blackbush airport,
when an Apache helicopter started making mock runs and
then a Chinook started unloading SAS to take the airport buildings

Been there many times, we were just across the road, literally at Gibralter Barracks

A few years ago now. I was delivering cars around the country on trade plates. I was heading to Bridgewater from Tewkesbury and was trying to get a lift south on the M5 from the motorway junction. As I stood there I noticed a USAF A10 circling. then he made 3 passes using me as an aiming point. Not a nice feeling at all.

Same place but stopped on the M5 the boys and I watched a pair
of A10 flying around the local fields, so low they had to open the
field gates have not seen any around for ages now.
There are plenty of 'copters around the Old Oaks including
the occasional Apache.

There were a lot of A10's based in Suffolk where they were called warthogs or flying gattling guns

The USAF have retired them all now.
