Hi All
Proud but nervous new owner of a 2004 Troll 555GT unable to sleep so thought I would say hello at this ungodly hour! We collect our Troll next Wednesday and I am having post purchase jitters! I have never towed or parked a caravan. Any advice for a nervous newbie so that Imcan sleep tomorrow night?

You'll be fine just take it steady and practice, don't be pushed along by the "bumper bullies!!" Get your hook up procedure imprinted on your brain and check then check again all is well, adjust your mirrors so that "you" are happy with them and away you go, let us know how you get on?
Likes to wax and have a smooth finish! Has an empty space where once a very polished Eriba stood😎

Congratulations, make sure that you understand the alko hitch procedure if it is fitted, easy to download instructions, find a quiet industrial estate or large carpark to practice the towing/reversing, I purchased aero mirrors and they really helped me, got them on amazon, most of all, take your time and enjoy. Congratulations presumably you have a towbar on the car?
Download and print this checklist to take with you, do all the relevant things on it before you drive away and just take it easy to start with. Are you going far?
Speed limits are 10 mph less on the top 2 limits when towing ...........so 50 instead of 60 and 60 instead of 70

I should explain that I produced the checklist that Hob has linked to when I first started towing a little more than four years ago.
I would stress that I have updated the contents regularly to reflect my own personal circumstances (daily medication) and caravan equipment levels (mover, fridge fans etc) and personal cock-ups (such as forgetting to wind the mover rollers off the wheels) so please feel free to download the file and modify it as you see fit.
I think most of us will admit to occasionally doing daft things. To help prevent this, I keep a copy of the checklist in the caravan door pocket and run through it every time we are leaving a site.
If you have any questions, please ask.
So far as towing is concerned, you will very soon find yourself forgetting that you have the van attached, particularly on motorways. Reversing will come with practice - I'm still not very good but can do it if I concentrate. Reversing in a straight line is easy, just look in your towing mirrors and as the caravan gets larger in one mirror turn the wheel slightly in that direction until the images in both mirrors are the same size. If you get it wrong, pull forward and have another go.
Practice makes perfect - but a mover makes lazy.
PS I've just amended the checklist (items 17 and 18 swapped to a more logical order). Thanks, Rodders.

Exciting times.
I wonder how many of us Eriba owners had their first towing experience when collecting their new pride and joy?
I remember the mixture of excitement and trepidation quickly followed by the feeling of surprise at how easy it was.

I can remember towing a pal's caravan for his home in Hants to Wareham. so we could use it and thenit was setup for him and then later when we got the boat going to collect it from a marina in Arundel and towed it home. Long long time after we got the Eriba and that first time from Poole to home was quite daunting but went OK.

congrats I would say the same as all others. I am also a newbie and have only towed on three trips so far but it really is easy if you just take your time and don't panic or be rushed. The thing I always forget to do is release the handbrake! I hasten to add it's only when engaging the motor mover not when towing on the car. thankfully.

Thanks for all your very useful comments and encouragement. I shall sleep well tonight!! A small glass or two of something chilled will probably help as well! 🍸

Towing an Eriba is really easy, I was nervous to begin with and our first tow included the Dartford crossing (nightmare). Now I can tow happily abroad on the wrong side of the road. Reversing is another matter but ours is small enough to unhitch and move manually. Practice is your best friend. As for mistakes, we have all made them, some of us (me) some right howlers but you learn from your mistakes. The most important thing is to ENJOY.
