This grey and green striped Soplair 'Bourgogne' with lightweight fibre poles is a high quality, full awning made in France especially for the Triton range of caravans.

The zip-in sides and front can be removed allowing the awning to be used as a sun canopy in hot weather or they can be left in place, partially unzipped and folded over to provide a through-flow of air. When used like this, the panels are very quick to replace should the weather change suddenly. The roof is silver coloured on the outside to reflect the sun and easy to keep clean.

One of the end panels has a clear 'window' while the other has a mesh ventilation panel with a waterproof cover that can be unzipped and rolled up or pegged out with guy ropes to provide ventilation when it is raining without water coming through the mesh. The panels can be fitted in either end.

Most of the pegging-out is done from inside the awning except for the outer mud wall which is pinned in place with wire pegs. There are no guy ropes to the main tent frame. All the frame joints have been colour-coded with adhesive dots to simplify assembly.

The awning comes complete with two unused nylon awning rail fittings and stainless steel fixing screws.The central support pole has two alternative lower sections, a spike that can be located in another similar fitting (not supplied but easily obtainable) and a tube with a flattened end that simply sits in the channel itself.

The original curtains are unused. Full instructions for assembly are included together with pegs and spare rubber loops.

The draught skirt that fits under the caravan has a cut-out that goes over the fitted step. The original owner slightly bodged the job and the wrong cuts have been repaired with adhesive tape. If it's any consolation, the skirt on my other awning is exactly the same and is still usable.

So why am I selling? Quite simply because I have two identical awnings. I bought the second one as a potential source of spares should I ever need them but over the past two years I haven't required any so, rather than have an awning taking up space under my workbench, I might as well sell it and let someone else get some use out of it.

How much? I'm asking £225 (if collected from Christchurch, Dorset - on the edge of The New Forest, about 12 miles from Automotive Leisure). I could also send it by courier, purchaser to pay charges.)

Awning still available and I've reduced the price.

I've just been advised that newer Eribas have a slightly higher awning rail than the one on my 2003 Triton so I should point out that this awning is designed to fit earlier caravans with the lower awning rail.

Does anyone know from what year the awning rail heights were changed?
