Hi, just a quickie intro as it's past midnight and only just got my log in details. We've just bought a 1988 Puck in France where we now live and have just discovered an aspect of camping life we didn't know existed. We're off to Arcachon for our maiden visit after having a practice with the Soplair awning. We've had a Nissan campervan in the past and the Eriba reminds us of it size wise but with the awning it's a whole new world or at least more than twice the size. I think tents are now a thing of the past which is probably a wise move given our almost retirement age. The only thing lacking in the eriba is a second (beer) fridge.

Great to hear from you from Derek and Carole and what Frantone says about that site, is backed up by our thoughts.

Thanks for the welcome everybody. We are going to the municipal campsite just east of Arcachon (Camping Municipal de Verdalle) but we'll check out the one near the Dune while we are there. I've found the french municipal sites generally clean and cheap though lacking resources in the tourist areas. Ideal if you want a quiet place to chill but no good if you want pools, bike hire etc.

Yes, we've only used 'Municipal' sites in France, and rarely disapointed :)

Wonderful place. I first wen to Arachon 37 years ago!! How time flies. Returned there some years back approx 20 years and stayed in a site about 20 mins away from Arachon, in Ares.
