Sewing seat covers and curtains

Hi!
I want to re-cover the seats - they're a blue/yellow rather busy fabric at the moment.
Do any of you have any pics of your interiors that you would be happy to share to inspire me?
Any tips for the covers?

We had the same upholstery and decided to recover and incorporate memory foam for our aching bones at the same time.

It has now been done for three years and I've just dismantled it all and washed the covers. The memory foam has worked well, although it did move a bit with wear. You can see it here g43p537-Randa-s-Pad.html . I started off by buying two double mattress toppers and cutting them to the size of the seats. I covered each foam piece with old sheeting before upholstering.

This is the end of the first stage.

I added a few small cushions made up with diagonals cut from the stripes (don't ask - Sir thought it would be easy!) We then decided to make the bolsters as discussed here PILLOW TALK.

Hope this is of some help.

Hi had you thought about using some throws that jaz the seats up or down a bit ,to your own taste you can easily change the style and are easier to wash no struggling to get covers back on and if it gets a bit chilly they can be used as a snug blanket.

We had new seat covers made and replaced the curtains to de-beige the original interior.
The duvet cover on our fixed bed matches too.

Thank you all for the ideas. We have the same yellow curtains and similar covers as Crystal....... I can't say they're awful but I really don't think I could spend much time in close proximity LOL
Throws always look a bit messy unless you're really good at not shifting them about.
I'm oing to make loose covers, I think and I've seen some lovely fabric with birds on for the curtains.

Loose covers sounds like a good idea if you don't want to struggle with getting the covers back on - I put them on when damp and there was no problem, although it was a pain having to hand sew them closed. The other thing is that our rear seats have a plywood base, so the material had to be stapled on. It was really tiring trying to get the staples out to wash the covers.
Looking forward to seeing the end result - sounds lovely.
