Best laid plans

So the plan was that we would take the Eriba to Italy for Christmas and New Year then travel onwards to who knows where depending on the weather. Sadly this morning my Dad had a small heart attack. He is ok at the moment but whilst he is in hospital my two siblings and I will have to care for my Mum who has dementia. That has scuppered the road trip, we have been unable to get away this year due to the children's issues so we were really looking forward to meeting our friends and having a great Christmas. So now a quiet Christmas at home, may have to spend some time sat in the Eriba just to top up my Eriba fix.

Neil has just suggested that as it will just be the two of us we could cook our Christmas dinner in the house then take it outside and eat it in the Eriba. Complete with mini Christmas tree, bubbly, candles and lights. What do you think, too daft for words or a cracking idea?

Oh, such sad news, hope your dad soon recovers and that you are able to get away in your Eriba. The Christmas dinner idea sounds great and if our Familia was at home we would do the same. We often go to the storage site with a flask and cake and sit in Doo-Dah and play camping. Hope everything turns out ok for you all and that you have a lovely Christmas and healthy new year. Ellen.

Very sad news. Wishing him a rapid recovery. I love your idea of hving your Christmas dinner in the Eriba. They're like little Wendy houses.

Thank you all for your very kind wishes. Dad is 89, will be 90 on Christmas Day. He has been through so much in his life, I just hope he comes through this and will be home to celebrate his birthday. I think the decision has been made for Christmas Day though, we will have our dinner in the Eriba and raise a glass to our friends holidaying in Italy. Will also raise the glasses to all on this Forum and wish you all a Happy Christmas and a wonderful Eribaing New Year.

Sorry to hear about the ill health of your father.
But at least a cheer up in the eriba with xmas dinner sounds a great idea.
A change is as good as a rest.

Still looking for a good puck
