Hi Everybody,
We really wanted a 4 berth Troll but with a very limited budget we went for a 4 berth Rapido pop top caravan which was well within our budget. It has a really good layout if not the cuteness of the Troll. Problem is the dreaded damp! We got it for £1600 and apart from the d word it is fine. Does anyone have any ideas on having it fixed? and please can I stay on the forum, you're all so friendly and one day we shall get our Troll!

I don't know about that - a Rapido on an Eriba site we will get you hung drawn and quartered.

Sorry can't help you with the damp issue, some with more experience will probably advise but is it penetrating damp i.e water ingress or is it condensation? Have you tried a web search to see if there are any Rapido forums for advice on the damp issue. And congrats on your Rapido happy travels in her/him.

Of course you can Julie but we'll have to relegate you to the tea room

Don't know much about the Rapido but there are plenty of them around. Have you located where the damp is penetrating?

Thanks now I feel really welcome, let's just say other forums aren't for us!
The water we think has come in where the poptop meets the roof. I'm hoping that we may have fixed it by cleaning and resealing the area. But the wood inside has discoloured. It will be good but the end goal is a troll!

Your more than welcome on this site , have you tried the Rapido club to see if they can help with the damp. They may know about the common problems with the Rapido?

Or you could try a local caravan engineer?

Is it by any chance where the locking peg/pin mechanism is located, in the centre at either end? Just wondered as we had a Fleurette Tamaris for years before moving to Eribas. That had water ingress when we bought it and had caused the veneer to bubble and lift.
It was caused by a missing flap of pvc on the outside of the end poptop section. It should cover the locking peg when the roof is up and prevent water tracking back into the caravan, a bit like a little cycle cape! In our experience, they are easily ripped off if the peg isn't pulled in when dropping the roof.

All roads lead to Eriba, you'll get there one day.
