Hi!

Just bought an Eriba Famila and can't wait to start exploring. I think I've found out how everything works although I did find towing a slightly strange experience, especially on the bumpy back roads. Any advice welcome.

Welcome, Rob and Lizzie.

On the drive home from wherever you collected your van, it will have been unladen and the nose weight was probably completely wrong.

I remember our Triton bouncing about all over the place when I picked it up from AL and never having towed before I found it quite alarming. When everything was correctly loaded with the stabiliser and tow ball cleaned however, things were much smoother and I took it down to the South of France without a problem a few weeks later.

I'd suggest a 'shakedown' trip not too far from home to get used to everything before heading off into the far distance.

just take it slow when in a bumpy road situation or you will make the car feel the Eriba go over the rough ground.
