Crumbling near pop top handles

Hi, when we were having a good tidy up after our last weekend away we noticed some roof issues near the pop top handles. Hard to explain. On both sides there seems to be chipped roofing on the inside. Almost as if we pulled or pushed too hard and it has stressed the roof where the ceiling meets the very edge.
Sorry, can't explain better! Will try to add a picture later!
Anybody had a similar issue?
It's a '97 Triton.
Thanks

could it be the inside of the fibre glass pop roof?

interestingly on a restoration someone pull the inner wood from the outer fibre glass to remove canvas,
they must of glued it back on.. scary..

afraid may have to inspect the roof outside top and look around where handles attaches, hoping the scissor bolts haven't pulled through..
