Broken Lafuma chair.

When we started caravanning five years ago, I bought two French-made Lafuma 'Cham Elipse' chairs which have proved to be very comfortable.

On our recent trip to Northumberland, I heard a loud 'crack' as I sat in my chair and on inspection discovered that a plastic bracket that holds one end of a bracing rod had snapped. When nylon cable ties proved not to be up to the job of effecting a temporary repair I solved the problem by lashing the broken part together with string taking care to sit down very carefully in it for the rest of the holiday.

On Sunday evening I emailed Lafuma UK to ask if it was possible to obtain a replacement part thinking it was a bit of a long shot as I'd read an online review that said that Lafuma spares were 'not available'.

However, on Monday morning I had a reply seeking clarification of my exact requirements and on Tuesday I received the replacement parts I needed in the post free of charge with Lafuma's compliments.

It only took me five minutes to do the repair and the chair is as good as new again.

We tend to be quick to complain about poor customer care but slow to acknowledge when companies get it right so, as I was so pleased with the outcome in this instance, I thought the least I could do would be to share my experiences with you.

If only all companies were as helpful as this. So, well done Lafuma UK and thank you.

That's a good news story which gives you confidence for the brand. NR Awnings were very good at customer service, sadly the last floods wiped out their factory and forced them into liquidation...
