Hi New here
long term camper and looking to move on a little. Do not want a full caravan and have already looked at teardrops, but a little to small. Looked at a thing called a cricket, but quite expensive and only in USA at the mo. I then stumbled on a few Eribas on ebay and became interested, seems to tick all my boxes. So just starting out to research these and move towards getting one. Intend to read all the stuff on the forum, but any quick thoughts on what to look for and what to avoid would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Choosing an Eriba is all about personal preferences but the prime considerations, I would suggest, are: 1. Do you want to sleep across the van or along it? Taller people will have problems sleeping transversely and sleeping thus means climbing over one's partner to make calls of nature, etc. 2. Do you want a toilet or are you prepared to make do with a PortaPotti or a bucket for night time use? 3. Do you want an end dinette? 4. What weight caravan is best suited to your tow car? I think those are the basics you need to consider to get started.

Have a look at the layouts in the Picture Gallery section and if possible have a trip to a dealer to look at a selection of new and used caravans. Automotive Leisure in Poole is the best place to do this but depending on where you live may not be convenient. Have a look here

Another option would be to visit the forum members at their summer meet to chat and have a look at a wide selection of models and layouts. Eriba owners love showing off their caravans to anyone who shows an interest.

Please do consider coming along to the Summer Meet if it's convenient for you, as Brian said we are always happy to show off our vans. At the last meet someone came along to have a look so don't feel shy.

Well there certainly is a wide choice of Eribas available - plenty of info to be found here, and many enthusiasts happy to share experiences and to show off their own choices of 'vans ! If you can make one of the 'meets' it would be a great opportunity to view many different models :)
