A week lAst Saturday we collected Baldrick our new Eriba Familia 310 GT from AL and have spent the week loading him up with the multitude of kit and gadgets acquired over the past 8 months since we placed our order. Such great fun seeing how and where to fit things and huge thanks to the forum for all the advice and guidance on here it was a great help. In particular top tip to remove the paint on the towing ball as that certainly improved the towing experience - no idea why manufacturers paint the things but there you go.
First trip undertaken on Saturday to a local camping site near Tring called Hill Farm run by Jill - lovely lady and a great little site only 6 pitches but all with hook up and a great toilet/shower facility in a little trailer at the top of the field which was pristine. Any how's we got there ok and manoeuvred Baldrick into position without difficulty so overall I'm pretty chuffed with myself having never owned a caravan or towed anything before.
Nothing moved in the cupboards we used some plate holders and pan liners from IKEA to hold the plates and bowls they worked perfectly. I also reused some netting tubes we had saved from some posted flowers (they protected the rose heads in transit) to cover both mugs and any glassware and they worked a treat.
We left the bed up having made it before we set off and just used the front diner for meals which we made using one of the best bits of camping kit ever the Ramoska. Cooking revelation that thing it cooked a chicken chassuer on the Saturday night no problem and then a full English on Sunday morning - no mess and only one pan to wash up sheer genius device (on returning home we also used it to cook a full roast chicken dinner in the evening which was fantastic).
Next trip is down to Cornwall for our daughters graduation and we can't wait . I think we were a bit worried we had chosen a model too small for our needs however we couldn't be happier it's just perfect so huzzaaaaaaaaah for Baldrick our newest member of the family.
I'll try to post pics later
