Brake light keeps going faulty.

The brake light on my 2005 Puck will be working fine, then someone will tell me one of them is not working. I seem to recall that this is a common fault but I can't find any info.
Tapping the lens will often bring it back on, and on further investigation it appears to be the contacts at the bottom of the bulb holder. If I bend them upwards all works fine but simply plugging the bulb back in seems to push the contacts back down and the problem soon returns.

I have had problems in the past with lights on my old Puck, it was down to the connections in the socket not connecting properly, sometimes they become unaligned when hitching and unhitching. Try wiggling the 13 pin socket when connected to see if it recreates the problem.

Have you cleaned both the contacts and the base of the bulb? Just use something slightly abrasive like emery paper or use an electric contact spray cleaner. Ian

Thanks guys.
I've pretty much 100% narrowed it down to the bulb holder contacts so I will try cleaning them. It just feels like the bulbs (on each side) are a bit loose in the holder though and contact is sometimes lost on a journey with the vibrations??
Anyone know the exact bulbs that should be fitted in case mine have been previously changed out for something not quite right. I've only had the Puck 2 months and suspect the lights have been working intermittently for the whole time I've owned it.
