Canopy awning

Anyone got any recommendations for a canopy rather than a full awning?. I've got a wigo lightweight canopy at the moment, while I like it, it isn't really standing up to the wind, top panels seem loose and a very noisy in light wind and just about flattened itself this weekend with some stronger gusts. Have seen the Vision canopy which looks a bit more substantial, just wondering if anyone has tried it or has any other recommendations. Thanks

Hi Kauri I have a vision but I have only used it for three days and the weather was good. Very easy to put up, we have sides and front, haven't put the front up yet. Sides do not completely enclose the van so if it rained water would most defiantly leak at the ends of the canopy. However we bought it for its versatility and the ability to put up as much or as little as you need at the time. We would only have a table and chairs in there anyway so if it rained hard there would not be much to get wet. Only thing that I would say Is that In my opinion you need the side and roof poles even if you only use the sun canopy as without them the whole thing is rather floppy, with them it is a totally new ballgame and quite sturdy.

It is in the nature of sun canopies to suffer in windy conditions because they are by definition open, thus allowing the wind to get in underneath them.
They are fairly quick and simple to put up and take down however, I have often had to take one down when it gets too windy.

If a full awning is too much trouble have you considered a porch awning?

I have an issabella shadow Sun canopy, very easy to put up and take down. Like Hob says when it gets very windy they do flap about. At night time I take mine down to be on the safe side, it only has two guy ropes and takes a couple minutes to erect or take down. I have an Automotive Liesure porch awning which is a good compromise, it is very easy to put up compared to a full awning..

I've an Automotive Leisure Porch Awning for my Puck L, which as Poptop320 says seems to be an ideal solution, just enough room for two,and a lot easier to erect than a 'full size' awning like my 'Soplair" !

I also use a simple sun shade (two pole) when the weather is suitable !
