I inserted a library borrowed DVD into our Bush player, yes we are in the dark ages and it's disappeared inside. I have searched all surfaces in the room, I am very forgetful I know as if I had left it lying around but no.

Am tempted to dismantle the damn machine, although not sure where to start.

Have rattled, shaken, tapped the thing but nothing sounds or appears loose

Derek I'd offer to help! But I don't do "mission impossible" whatever you do, and this is a tip from someone who knows, unplug it before you do anything with a screwdriver!!!!

Maybe try the 'play' button to see if anything comes up on screen so at least you know it's in there!! Then eject it as mentioned although I would imagine there is a proper eject button for this purpose??

Thanks. In the end I took 9 minute screws out and there it was still in another sort of tray. Got it out, reassembled it all and it played well. It was the Lance Arsmsrong drug film that lasted about 4 days at our local cinema and I wanted to see. Anyway I had to pause it and leave to do wedding guest pickups and when I got back I tried to start it again and it wouldn't play and on opening, no DVD again, so it's another takeapart. The library will charge me otherwise.

Took the thing apart again today after recovery from yesterday/last night of a hugely successful happy daughter's wedding.

When I tried to use the DVD for the first time there was a really dodgy not professional looking circular sticker in the middle. Raised edges all round etc and I peeled it off. Having kept it on my desk for some reason, I thought it might have some use so re-attached it and lo and behold all fine and I have just finsihed watching the documentary.
