Hi, I am considering getting one of the "new" AL Porch awnings for our Pan Duo T. Does anyone know if it is possible to get the "standard" table and two chairs inside. They seem quite expensive but we may have to bite the bullet eventually as we also need an area to dry out our two dogs.At the moment we don't want to go the full awning route.Any info would be helpful, eg quality. Thanks. Heyden

Hi, if you are interested we have a new (used once) AL porch awning which we are thinking of selling.
Nothing wrong with it and all in good condition just that we have upgraded to an Outdoor Revolution Movelite Duo air awning which I can erect and put away single handed. The AL awning does require 2 people, particularly if it is a little windy.
£100 is all we are looking for, if you are interested.
Kind regards

We also have an AL awning, we can get our table and two folding chairs in it, normally we make up our bed for the duration of the holiday and then have the table outside the van in the porch awning.
They are a great bit of kit, easy to put up and no brackets are required to be drilled into the van..

I have not come across the Oxygen Movelite Duo in my airstrut searches before. It looks like a good awning. I see that the height of the rail attachment is quite flexible going down to 180 cm. I think the rail height on the Triton is 180 cm so I was just wondering whether you had any observations on how well the Duo handles heavy rain/gutter fittings etc.
I have seen pics of the new Kampa unit but the Oxygen seems to have much better ventilation and opening options.
Have you found any problems with all the guy ropes on sites or can you generally fit on a pitch OK.
Any other thoughts and observations greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I spent a little while looking for air awnings, primarily for ease of pitching as I normally do it single handed.
We have used it twice now, 2 weeks on the Broads at Clippesby Hall Camp site and a week on the Camping & Caravan Club site at Devizes.
We have had all sorts of weather with thunder storm including lightening one night at Devizes. Torrential rain but no leaks (thankfully).
What has impressed me with the motorhome drive-a-way awnings is the corridor between the awning and the caravan, it means you can access the caravan without going through the awning. It's also a good place to store muddy shoes etc.
The photos were taken at Devizes on one of the sunny days.

Good photos - thanks. I do agree - the side door is a real plus point!
The fully opening sides give much more ventilation than the Kampa offering - makes outdoor cooking much easier as well as giving more of an open feeling.
One - or rather the only - problem seems to be the fixed groundsheet. From what I gather some sites are very concerned (rightly) about grass damage and ask for breathable groundsheets and or regular lifting.
The Oxygen Airlite Classic is the only one in their range which does meet that requirement - and even then the groundsheet is a tub design so it will help with draught proofing etc even though the floor may not be watertight!. The other downside is that it is 100 denier which does make it lighter but a bit less robust.
I think we'll have to locate a supplier and take a closer look. Seems that Taunton is about our nearest.
