Following a PM conversation with Frantone earlier today, I've resurrected this thread as it may be of interest to newer members and worth a revisit for the old hands.

Be sure to read the first post which I've slightly updated.

1. A picturesque, tranquil location preferably near a river or canal

2. Clean and comprehensive facilities with lots of hot water at sinks, basins and showers.

4. Partial shade on good-sized, level pitches

5. Pleasant, helpful people in the reception

7. In an interesting area with lots of places to visit for days out.

8. Non exorbitant nightly pitch fees.

10. EDIT - Free WiFi at every pitch not just near reception.

Edited the list above to suit my opinions

Additions

Adult only (never had kids and can't be doing with them ..... too long since I was one)

A site that lets me pitch which ever way round I want to

Bear friendly

Best option so far is poppylands

Poppyland Norfolk

Doesn't tick all the boxes but is my favourite so far
