Cyclists Beware

Did you know that trucks have blind spots? I found out when I was driving a VW T5
and started to overtake three HGV, I was level with the middle one when it started to
pull out NO INDICATORS! I sounded my horn and checked the 3rd lane the truck
continued to come on so I dived for the 3rd lane and safety. A few weeks later a
woman was hit and dragged in her car for a considerable distance after a similar incident
Still cyclists move up alongside trucks then get upset (if not injured) when they get cut up.

I've driven Artics, Draw-Bar Trailers, Motorbikes and Cars etc etc over the years and have always kept to the rule - something I remind the wife off from time to time when I'm being chauffeur driven - and that is *if you can see the driver of the other vehicle in his mirror then he can see you* and if not stay back and try at all costs to avoid getting yourself in a sandwich situation.

I was pushed out of my lane and into the hard shoulder by a lorry, he had no idea what he had done even though I was blaring my horn and flashing my lights
